Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these detailed instructions to set up your secure crypto wallet
Installing SSP Wallet
Visit Extension Store
Open your browser and navigate to the SSP Wallet Extension page for your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave)
Install Extension
Click 'Add to Chrome/Firefox' or 'Install' button. A pop-up window will appear asking if you want to add SSP Wallet. Click 'Add' or 'Install' to complete installation.
Open Wallet & Create Password
Locate the SSP Wallet logo in your browser and click on it. Click 'Get Started!', set your password — it encrypts your wallet on this device — agree to the Terms of Service, and click 'Create Wallet'.
Backup Wallet Seed
Click 'Show Mnemonic' to reveal your wallet seed phrase. Write the words down in order, store them securely offline, and confirm that you have backed them up.
Confirm Your Backup
A quick word challenge verifies your backup is real: pick the correct word for each requested position. Once you see 'Backup Confirmed!', click 'Create Wallet'.
Make It Yours
Give your wallet a name and pick an accent color so you can spot it at a glance — you can change both later. Click 'Continue'.
Get Ready to Pair
Your wallet is ready! It now shows a QR code and asks you to pair your SSP Key — the second signature. Grab your phone and continue with Part Two.
Installing SSP Key Mobile App
Secure Your Key
Tap 'Synchronise Key!' to begin, then set your SSP Key password and confirm it. Tap 'Setup Key!'. You can also enable biometrics to unlock with your fingerprint or face.
Backup Key Seed
Tap 'Show Mnemonic' to reveal your key seed phrase. This seed is separate from your wallet seed — both must be backed up to recover your funds. Store it securely offline.
Confirm Your Key Backup
A quick word challenge verifies your backup is real: select the requested words from your key seed phrase. If a word is wrong, check your written backup and try again.
Scan the QR Code
In your browser wallet, tick any extra chains to activate — one approval covers them all. Then tap 'Scan Code' in SSP Key and scan the QR code shown in your browser. Both apps also still support manual entry for offline setups.
Slide to Approve
SSP Key shows the synchronisation request with every chain you selected. Slide to approve — a single approval activates all of them, with live progress on both devices.
Verify Your Pairing
Both devices now show the same 6 words. Compare them — or tap 'Scan wallet to verify' in SSP Key to check automatically. Matching words prove your pairing wasn't tampered with. If they differ, stop and re-pair.
After Setup: Finding Your Way Around
SSP Wallet 2.0 in a nutshell — where things are and how sending works
Navigate with the Identity Pill
Tap the identity pill at the top — your wallet's name and color — to switch wallets and networks. The bottom bar has four tabs: Home, Portfolio, Activity, and Menu. Everything that used to live in Settings is now under Menu.
Send with Two Devices
Sending is one clear 3-step flow — Details, Review, Approve — with the full recipient address always shown at review. To finish, SSP Key displays a plain-language summary, decoded on your phone, of exactly what you're signing. Slide to approve; release early and nothing happens.
